So, we finished the challenge at about 0940h... - Chris Burman-Day - Coaching

So, we finished the challenge at about 0940h yesterday morning and held a small act of remembrance at 1000h.

I say “we” because it wasn’t just me. I couldn’t have pulled this off without the help of others, so a huge thanks to everyone who played a part.

Jamie, your support in the van running logistics made this weekend, thank you so much.

Andy, Ben, Will, Sharron, Barney, Dom, Helen (and family) your support in joining me on sections short and long was fabulous. Kay, thanks for popping up when you did, a total surprise and a morale boost! Ade, that mug of tea this morning was blinding, thank you!

Those of you who were in Dursley for the act of remembrance, have made donations, sent me encouraging messages throughout, shared posts and updates, thank you.

Thanks too to the local Dursley businesses who supported, by donating goods to the curry night fundraiser, having posters and sponsorship forms and holding your own allied fundraising activities; thank you.

In true style, this plan didn’t survive first contact – the tracker worked intermittently and gave up the ghost around midnight. In the early hours I started to feel especially unwell, Barney, Dom and Sharron your support here was literally a life saver – in the circumstances, Sharron you ended up doing so much more than planned but kept me going, thank you!

Carly, you couldn’t make it, but I’ll accept hospitalisation as a valid reason. Get well soon!

We’ve raised £700 online for The ABF Soldier’s Charity and have yet to collect off-line donations; which is amazing.

Lastly a massive thanks to Rhyannon, B and T. Firstly, the amazing work that went into the curry night which raised over £300 towards the total, and fabulous food; and their “understanding” that on occasion, I need to do something like this, even if I end up hurt and broken!

Thank you x

We will remember them.
